Carnivale c’est donc un projet réalisé dans le cadre d’un petit collectif éphémère auquel je participe avec Hélèna, plasticienne dont je vous ai déjà montré le travail et également avec Topaz, un graffeur de la région.

(comme) les 3 doigts (de la main) – le nom de notre collectif – a été sollicité pour prendre en charge la décoration d’un des bars du festival Aucard de Tours que les Tourangeaux connaissent bien.

Le thème de l’année : “c’est encore loin l’amérique?”

Notre réponse : “p’tain vas y, on fait un Freak Show !!”

Vous ne verrez ici que les photos faites pour l’occasion, mais Héléna également créé plusieurs pièces exposées au bar et m’a surtout fourni de quoi faire un fond inespéré sans lequel les photos n’auraient pas eu le même charme.

Et comme c’était “l’amérique”, nous avons bien sur donné à chacun de nos personnages un petit nom US et une histoire associée (si dans mes lecteurs une bonne volonté bilingue trouve des fautes dans les textes en anglais, qu’elle n’hésite pas une seconde à m’envoyer un mail).

Merci à mes modèles d’un jour, tous bénévoles sur le festival et la plupart servant justement au bar dans les tenues utilisées pour la photo.

Fay SWANSON

Watchdog for all the circus. Don’t look for troubles with Ernst, his gloves are made of lead and he never talks first.

Ginger CROSS

3 Legs Ginger is a big mystery, genetic abnormality or intra-uterine cannibalism? No one really knows.

Judy BRADFORD

Judy is one of the first “doc du ch’veu” (an eminent French hair scientist) experience. It’s the first hybridization between a woman and a snake.

Billie-Joe KEEGAN

Billie and Joe where two Identical twins who merged in their mother’s stomach (who died in childbirth after a haemorrhage). They are physically inseparable, so they finally get married together.

Gloria MULLIGAN

Gloria is a mystical woman borned in India. She’s very handfull for servicing drinks, massages or even housecleaning.

Sydney WAXMAN

Syney felt asleep onces on a rail way. He souldn’t !

Buster McGILL

Buster is the famous Cyclops every circus want’s to hire. He is strong, hard at work and literally tireless.

Et pour finir (et surtout pour frimer), une photo faite à l’arrache du bar décoré quelques minutes avant l’ouverture, de quoi apercevoir les créations d’Héléna et la taille des tirages (frimeur!!).
